Today we are speaking with
Disability Rights Advocate and Inclusive Business Solutions
Specialist, Rose Finlay. After a catastrophic injury at the
age of seventeen that left her a quadriplegic, Rose Finlay has
continued to push the boundaries of societal norms and expectations
surrounding disability. A mama to three little dudes and a
successful entrepreneur and disability advocate, her unstoppable
spirit and ferociously positive outlook inspire her to chase her
lifelong goals despite the challenges of being a quadriplegic and
recovering from an autoimmune condition. Rose is an accessibility
consultant by day, and she is eager to help bridge the gaps between
disabled communities and equal access to opportunity.
In this episode, we discuss:
1) Rose shares her experience of having a
catastrophic injury at the age of seventeen that left her a
quadriplegic. She vividly shares what her life was like
during the early days in her recovery into today, and how her
mindset and personal development work has been critical to where
she is today.
2) Rose explains how her disability affords them a very different perspective on life. It is teaching them to value differences, it is teaching them empathy and an understanding of differences between people. Rose believes that her children will contribute to the world and make an impact just through the experiences they have and will continue to live.
